Digitizing the rare earths production process: from mine to magnet
Beyond exploration, Aclara is digitizing the entire rare earths processing chain by developing digital twins - from our exploration campaigns to concentration and separation plants.
Once implemented, these digital models will be enhanced with machine learning, enabling intelligent, data-driven optimization and seamless integration into our fully digitalized production system. This strategy not only boosts efficiency and sustainability but also positions Aclara as a leader in applying cutting-edge technologies to the mining industry.

Our strategic partnership with Stanford University
On July 16, 2025, Aclara announced a long-term partnership with Stanford University through a Letter of Intent between Aclara Technologies Inc. and Stanford’s Mineral-X initiative. This collaboration aims to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen and decarbonize the global supply chain for heavy rare earth elements (HREE), while accelerating the foundation for a strong academic and technological alliance, leveraging advanced AI solutions to optimize the HREE supply chain from the ground up.
Key Objectives of the Aclara–Stanford Collaboration:
Joint development of AI-powered predictive models to better understand and target REE mineralization in regolith and ionic clays.
Academic and technical exchange between researchers, students, and professionals from both institutions to support mutual training, knowledge transfer, and capacity building.
Innovation opportunities in sustainable exploration, traceability, and responsible development of REE supply chains.
Co-authorship of scientific publications and joint management of intellectual property related to AI applications in exploration, ensuring confidentiality and managing intellectual property rights in accordance with each Party’s internal policies.
Roadmap for a long-term strategic alliance, including future R&D initiatives and pilot projects.

Artificial Intelligence in rare earths exploration and production
Aclara is revolutionizing the exploration of rare earth elements (REE) in ionic clays through an innovative system based on artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite technology. This advanced approach leverages the analysis of spectral images captured by high-resolution satellites to study soil composition and detect characteristic patterns associated with the presence of these elements.

Additionally, it uses vegetation as a natural bioindicator, analyzing its chemical and physiological response to the presence of REEs in the subsurface. By combining geospatial data processing with AI-driven predictive models, this system enables more precise identification of areas with high mineralogical potential, optimizing exploration processes. Thanks to this methodology, Aclara offers a more efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective alternative compared to traditional methods, reducing the need for extensive drilling and minimizing environmental impact in the study areas.
